Due to difficulty in lining up a venue to hold our August campout, we will have to cancel for this month.  Watch for emails from your respective den leaders for information about scouting starting back up for your den!

Join us at Monroe Community Park at 6:30pm on Tuesday 7/29 for an evening of physical activities designed to help your Cub Scout on his way to earning his rank.  Each den will have different activities tailored to the physical activity requirements of each particular rank.  If you have questions, please contact your den leader.

Plan to meet your den leader near the concession stand at 6:30pm on July 29.  See you there!

The Dan Beard Council has teamed up with the Kentucky Speedway to offer special tickets to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, the “Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers”. The race will be held on Saturday, July 19th and special discount tickets are available for Scouts and their families.

Tickets are available for $15 per person by CLICKING HERE. These tickets also include a free pre-race concert by “Blood Sweat and Tears”. Tickets will be available to pick up at the Kentucky Speedway Will Call window on the day of the race.

These discount tickets are only available online at www.danbeard.org and must be purchased by midnight on July 10th.

The campout tentatively scheduled for June 21 has been cancelled.  We are going to work to reschedule this activity, since the R/C planes sound like a LOT of fun!

Our next pack activity will be the Fourth of July parade.  Please have your scout meet in the Monroe Kroger parking lot at 4:00pm (in uniform if possible).  The remaining dates for our summer activities are still as listed in the May newsletter (here):

We are officially registered for the Hopewell District Pinewood Derby.  The following five scouts will represent our pack at this year race:

• Jacob Hodgeman (Wolf)
• Treshawn Ashby (Bear)
• Cole Howard (Bear)

The derby is being held on Saturday, May 3, at Bob Pulte Chevrolet in Lebanon (map).  The schedule of heats is as follows:

Spectators are welcome, so if you're not busy, come on out and cheer them on.  Good luck to all of our racers!

Karen has prepared a flyer outlinging the various camp opportunities for our scouts over the summer (thanks, Karen!).  Have a look and think about having your boy participate ... the day camps and adventure camp are a lot of fun and give your scout a head start on the requirements for his next rank.  The Fun With Son weekends are a blast, with plenty of activities for the kids at Cub World.
